Running question
How do you deal with the stacked health degen from mobs like the Dolyak Heretics?
My current skillset for running is
1) Zealot's fire (small aoe to try and move mobs that trap you)
2) Endure pain (health boost for if you're in trouble)
3) Sprint
4) Charge! {elite} (non stance running goodness)
5) Balanced Stance (for use with charge to run past mobs w/ knockdown)
6) Holy Veil (for some hex removal / slow down)
7) Healing Signet
8) Mending
I have holy veil yet putting it on before doesn't seem to slow the casting of the slowdown spell they use nor the health degen hex. You can't remove / apply it again while they are casting on you as they all seem to cast faster then the spell refreshes.
Any suggestions?

You deal with heretics by simply not going near them
And been as those mesmer use plenty of fast cast, you don't use Veil to slow it down, simply to remove Crippling Anguish the moment you see it.
Where are you running anyway? Plus Symbol Of Wrath is much better than Zealots Fire. When it comes to running from Rankor to War Camp i don't even use Mending. No point it plus saves me points from healing prayers.

Heh well recently I just decided to see if I could run around the southern mts in general and the heretic type mobs are giving me an issue for the spots where I can't avoid them
Oh and I did make a mistake, I am using symbol of wrath and not zelot's fire. No idea why I keep getting them mixed up. Symbol is the aoe every second. My bad
What build do you use for running? and do you use purge conditions?
Thanks for the answers

Droks run is pretty easy unless u have a major nasty spawn. I never bring mending because it slows down energy regen, and I usually bring healing breeze. I never even bring Holy Viel :P cause it seems I never need it, even if im frozen.

Drok Run build is pretty simple:
Charge
Sprint
Endure Pain
Balanced Stance
Healing Signet
Contemplation of Purity
Holy Veil
Extra Skill
Max Tac, Max Str (whatever runes your preference)
GEAR
Armor should be glads with either Ascalon Helm with the +tac and absorb,
or a +str helm with knight/ascalon boots for absorb. My kit is actually grotto glad with Knights Boots and cit plate helm, all dyed silver, with major Tac in helm, Major Abs/Vig in armor, and minor Str in armor.. brings me up to 15 tac/14 str, and looks very sharp.
Shield should be a +health -damage while in stance (preferred over all others) If you have a better shield that is better but situational (like the +60 -3 while hexed from collector north of rankor) then you can equip them when it applies and go back to stance shield when situation is not fullfilled anymore.
It's always good to bring an energy gear set too, if you can find a good one that doesn't have high reqs. There are some good collector items available for this... for instance, there is a nice +energy wand outside Serenity Temple if I remember correctly... couple that with a good low req focus item and you should be set... just remember you will take more damage without that shield
SKILLS
You use Contemplation to get rid of Conditions and Hexes.. if you have Holy Veil on, then use Contemplation to get rid of 1 condition and 2 hexes. If you brought another enchant, have it going too and use Contemplation to get rid of 2 conditions and 3 hexes..
As for the Extra Skill, you could go with Symbol of Wrath to de-troll yourself.. but remember, trolls interrupt, and SoW takes 2 seconds to cast.. it's easier to just not get stuck in the first place (Hint: sometimes backwards is forwards)
One good choice is actually Vigorous Spirit. The reasoning is that it's a 30 second duration enchant, so nice and long, but only costs 5 energy, so you don't have to stand there while the cost regens. The use for it is simply another enchant to use with contemplation, to give you the ability to purge 2 conditions and 3 hexes if you have veil on..
Another choice is Zealot fire, since it's a longer duration, but the 10 energy cost takes longer to regen with veil on.
Or something like Defensive Stance for tight spots with trolls... sometimes you can wiggle out if you can just survive them long enough
Don't bother with Mending, since it brings your energy regen to 0 and doesn't make that big of a difference on the healing side.
And yes, stay AWAY from the heretics... sometimes you can get away from one if you are lucky, but most of the time, you are done when they snare you... Heretic degen + Gnasher degen + archer bleeding = dead you.
Good luck with the running

Thanks for the post. Some nice logic here. Didn't know about the contemplation use, i'll have to try it.
I've done the aggro move back and then foward running thing and it usually works well but sometimes due to lag I am suddenly back in the middle of a pack and blocked :/
I agree on the stacked degens from the heretics+gnashers+archers. Wipes me out pretty fast. /SIGH

The degen isn't an issue. The slowdown is. You precast holy veil, watch the heretic casting Crippling Anguish so that you know when it's about to hit. As soon as Crippling Anguish hits, you dismiss Holy Veil and go about your way. You deal with Ice Golems the same way.
